    An evening celebrating Afghan art, poetry, music, and storytelling. Community members are invited to share performances and cultural knowledge. This is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate our rich heritage, connect with neighbours, and welcome those who are curious about Afghan culture.

    Khpalwaki/Istiqlal Day — Afghan Independence Day

    Wednesday, 19 August 2026 Chelmsford, Essex (venue to be confirmed)

    Join us as we proudly celebrate Istiqlal Day — Afghanistan's Independence Day. On 19th August 1919, Afghanistan reclaimed full sovereignty and independence. We will mark this historic occasion with cultural performances, traditional food, music, and reflection on what it means to carry our Afghan identity with pride in our new home. All members of the community and friends are warmly welcome.

    Eid al-Adha Gathering — Hylands Park

    Brothers and children from the Chelmsford Afghan Community came together at Hylands Park to celebrate Eid al-Adha 1447. The park rang with laughter, shared food, and the joy of community. This gathering — a males and kids get-together in the heart of Chelmsford — is exactly the kind of moment that reminds us why CAC exists: to ensure no family has to celebrate alone.

Families and friends gathered to share traditional Afghan food, exchange Eid greetings, and enjoy the warmth of community. A beautiful reminder that no one in our community celebrates alone.
